Government agencies and business enterprises are requested to refer to the Innovation Centre project application procedure before completing and submitting a project application form.
Who is Eligible?
Access to the Centre is open to all Government agencies, business enterprises and statutory authorities that are:
- departments or other administrative units of the public service or other instrumentalities or agencies of the Crown, or
- bodies corporate established for a public purpose and comprised of or including, or having a governing Minister or other instrumentality or agency of the Crown, or
- any body whether corporate or unincorporated established for a public purpose and declared by regulation to be a public authority, or
- any body incorporated under the SA Health Commission Act.
Evaluation Criteria
All projects submitted to the Innovation Centre will be individually considered against the evaluation criteria in two discrete stages. Only those projects that are successful in the first phase will progress to a more detailed Stage Two Evaluation.
Stage 1:
- Does the project demonstrate strong alignment with the strategic Vision of the Innovation Centre?
- Does the project demonstrate strong alignment with the strategies of the South Australian State Government’s ICT Directions?
- Does the project adhere to the Innovation Centre’s definition of innovation?
- Is the Project based upon the Microsoft software platform available to government?
- Does the project have strong and demonstrable Agency executive support?
- Is there a strong probability of project success?

Project sponsors will be formally notified if the project will not progress further under the Innovation Centre framework. An outline of the rationale for this determination will also be given.
Notifications
Government agencies will be formally notified of the status of their project application.
After Approval
Government agencies will work in conjunction with Microsoft and local partners to develop a proof of concept solution to the business problem.
