Introduction
The Innovation Centre is a cornerstone of the strategic relationship between Microsoft and the South Australian Government, first formalised in February 2001 and reaffirmed in June 2005. The Innovation Centre continues to deliver projects that support key government agency business and IT strategies.
Objectives of the Innovation Centre

Our key objectives for the Innovation Centre are to:

  • promote the Information Economy through innovation and the best practice use of the Microsoft software available to Government;
  • achieve maximum business value for Government and local industry partners;
  • enable and encourage the accelerated development and deployment of business solutions based on the Microsoft platform;
  • support effective business to business and business to consumer information exchange;
  • share research findings by creating information exchange networks to the advantage of the Government and South Australia in general.
 
Strategic Relationship
Our strategic relationship aims to:
  • build a closer relationship between the South Australian Government and Microsoft with a focus on developing innovative business solutions;
  • provide technical resources to research and develop software systems exploiting Government-wide infrastructure;
  • leverage the South Australian Government software investment to achieve platform consistency and compliance;
  • encourage innovation that will be driven by current proven technology, government agencies, Microsoft Partners, and current licensing agreements.
 
Vision for the Innovation Centre

Our shared vision for the Innovation Centre is that by the end of 2009 it will:

  • be a significant contributor to South Australia’s successful participation in the global information economy and society;
  • create community and business value beyond the cost of infrastructure and software;
  • foster the strategic relationship between the South Australian Government and Microsoft.
